Tomorrow is my first day teaching! I'm so excited and nervous...More so about fitting in with the rest of the teachers at this very Catholic elementary school(ex: this year everyone is upset because they have to teach evolution along with creationism) then I am worried about the students. I met them (the kids) on Friday at open house and for the most part they all seemed really cool.

And I'm teaching Drama and Yoga classes to 1st through 4th graders, so it's going to be a blast.

We named out kitten Zooey because we were watching Almost Famous and she wasn't interested in the TV at all until Zooey Danshel (sp?) was on screen, at which point she wouldn't look away.

So...basically we have a lesbian cat.

I'm getting kitten tonight at 7:30, so I am sorry in advance for the fucking annoying cat pictures.

Nameless kitten [23 Jul 2007|11:25am]

We got a new kitten (these pictures are taken at the home of the woman who rescued her). She has a growth hormone deficiency, so even though she's 12 weeks old, she still weighs about a pound and a half and fits in my hands.

She is such a badass. We need to name her though...

The only time the city sucks is in the summertime [10 Jul 2007|06:50pm]
The high was 95 and I walked a good five miles just around downtown today. And I'm a teensy bit sunburned. Most of the times I love walking everywhere, but it's days like these that make me lust for a car.

Also, people around Chi-town have decided that it's ok to wear denim underwear and call them shorts. I disagree.

Only two weeks until our move to downtown, which has got me super pumped. That's going to cut out 18 flights of stairs per day because I won't have to take transit anymore to go to work. Good thing we have a gym in the building I guess.

I'm being a laze this evening...it's nice.

P.S. I ran into Guerin Farley today at Borders (and he looks great ya'll).

Fuck Michael Jordan [03 Jul 2007|08:08pm]

Here's a photographic representation of both the levels of happiness and the amount of fun that boyfriend and I have been experiencing as of late.

For the past week or so part of my job has been to call our 'high-profile' (either really rich folk or people at least famous enough to make it in Chicago Social) subscribers/donors and make sure all of their Joffrey-related needs for the upcoming season are taken care of. Most of the time I get someone's assistant, or they transfer me to their manager and/or wife. But a few days ago I called Michael Jordan and he answered the phone himself. And then he proceeded to be a total foul-mouthed cockbag.

So know this, livejounal land:

Buying Air Jordans is like donating money to the Douchbags of America Fund

This Friday was probably the best in history of Fridays. After weeks of ass-busting, Dave and I did not leave the bed the entire day, except to go downstairs to get sushi. Lazing in the bed with open windows (and 60 degree weather breezing in) watching Scorsese movies...Damn we're good.

We just got a huge and beautiful condo right in the heart of downtown last week and we're moving in on the 20th

It's got a patio and a garden overlooking the city

It'll be nice to have downtown streets to use for my nightly run, instead of the dirty ones I use now

It will also be nice to be able to walk ten minutes and be at work

I work in marketing at the Joffery Ballet, which is nothing short of amazing

I didn't expect that I would be the one there

Which makes it bittesrweet at times, I suppose

Good job with good money though

I wonder how you are supposed to pack candles for a move?

I have lots of them

My mom sent me a box of 72 Shabbas candles a few months ago for no particular reason

And I have a lot more other kinds of candles, as well

Only a year (maybe two) until the move to France

We're sick of being frustrated by America

And want free school and free healthcare and good wine and cheese

(to be fair, I'm more about the wine and Dave's more about the cheese)

And mandatory minimum five weeks off paid vacation

And berets

Life-wise,

job-wise,

love-wise,

location-wise,

I've never been better, and that's the gospel truth

It's really nice to finally be in a place where I can appreciate and cherish my happiness.

And I don't constantly feel that I'm walking on eggshells to maintain it, because I know this kind of deep down happy isn't fleeting.

As the french would say,

FIN.

Puzzle from the Past [09 Dec 2006|08:23pm]
"Are your hands still red with the fear?!"

I was cleaning out a drawer in my desk a few days ago and I came across a piece of notebook paper with that phrase (and only that phrase) written on it.

I did not recognize the handwriting...it soun pretty funny, anyone remember what that means?

Vincent Chase is my best friend here...we connect so truly. I've been waiting so long to find a real friend here.

I'm coming home for thanksgiving.

Everything's gonna be fine, fine fii-ii-iiine.

My boy, wherever you are,
Work for your soul's sake,
That all of the clay of you,
All of the dross of you,
May yield to the fire of you,
Till the fire is nothing but light!...
Nothing but light!"

I have so much to do before I leave for New Orleans in ten hours...I'm really excited about my piece and my audition, but there is so much to get ready that I'm pulling out my hair. And Kati and I just finalized our Chicago takeover plans. It will be such an extravaganza, I'm just tickeld oh so pink about it. And I'm just facinated with MySpace lately, so I've been neglecting the updates on good ole' hot mama Lj. But don't worry, I'll be back. With a vengance.
